Comte<\/strong> (1798-1857) est un philosophe fran\u00e7ais consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme le fondateur du positivisme et de la sociologie moderne.<br>Il cherche \u00e0 appliquer aux soci\u00e9t\u00e9s humaines les m\u00e9thodes rigoureuses des sciences naturelles.<br>Selon lui, la connaissance valable repose uniquement sur les faits observables et les lois scientifiques.<br>Il formule la \u00ab loi des trois \u00e9tats \u00bb : l\u2019esprit humain passe de l\u2019\u00e9tat th\u00e9ologique, puis m\u00e9taphysique, \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tat positif (scientifique).<br>Dans l\u2019\u00e9tat positif, on renonce aux causes absolues pour \u00e9tudier les ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes et leurs relations.<br>Comte \u00e9tablit une hi\u00e9rarchie des sciences : math\u00e9matiques, astronomie, physique, chimie, biologie et sociologie.<br>Il nomme d\u2019abord la sociologie \u00ab physique sociale \u00bb.<br>Son objectif est de r\u00e9organiser la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 apr\u00e8s les crises politiques issues de la R\u00e9volution fran\u00e7aise.<br>Il d\u00e9fend l\u2019id\u00e9e que l\u2019ordre social doit \u00eatre fond\u00e9 sur la science et le progr\u00e8s.<br>Sa devise c\u00e9l\u00e8bre est : \u00ab Ordre et Progr\u00e8s \u00bb.<br>\u00c0 la fin de sa vie, il d\u00e9veloppe une \u00ab religion de l\u2019Humanit\u00e9 \u00bb, sans Dieu, centr\u00e9e sur le culte de l\u2019humanit\u00e9 et de la solidarit\u00e9.<br>Sa pens\u00e9e influence fortement la sociologie, la philosophie des sciences et certains r\u00e9gimes politiques du XIXe si\u00e8cle.<br>Le positivisme a notamment marqu\u00e9
