l\u2019existence (Existenzphilosophie).<br>Il commence sa carri\u00e8re en psychiatrie avant de se tourner vers la philosophie, ce qui influence fortement sa r\u00e9flexion sur l\u2019\u00eatre humain.<br>Il s\u2019int\u00e9resse aux situations limites (mort, souffrance, culpabilit\u00e9, lutte), o\u00f9 l\u2019existence humaine se r\u00e9v\u00e8le dans toute sa profondeur.<br>Pour Jaspers, l\u2019existence authentique ne peut \u00eatre saisie par la science seule, mais par une exp\u00e9rience int\u00e9rieure et r\u00e9flexive.<br>Il distingue le savoir objectif (science) de la compr\u00e9hension existentielle, li\u00e9e \u00e0 la libert\u00e9 et \u00e0 la subjectivit\u00e9.<br>La communication entre individus est centrale : elle permet l\u2019\u00e9veil de la conscience de soi et de la v\u00e9rit\u00e9 existentielle.<br>Il introduit aussi l\u2019id\u00e9e de transcendance, comme ouverture de l\u2019homme \u00e0 ce qui d\u00e9passe toute objectivation.<br>Oppos\u00e9 au nazisme, il est \u00e9cart\u00e9 de l\u2019universit\u00e9 allemande sous le III\u1d49 Reich.<br>Apr\u00e8s la guerre, il r\u00e9fl\u00e9chit \u00e0 la responsabilit\u00e9 collective des Allemands dans <em>La Culpabilit\u00e9 allemande<\/em>.<br>Son \u0153uvre majeure, <em>Philosophie<\/em> (1932), d\u00e9veloppe une vision syst\u00e9matique de l\u2019existence humaine.<br>Il influence durablement la philosophie existentialiste et la th\u00e9ologie contemporaine.<br>Jaspers insiste enfin sur la libert\u00e9 comme t\u00e2che \u00e0 accomplir plut\u00f4t qu\u2019un \u00e9tat
