th\u00e9oricien majeur du XX\u1d49 si\u00e8cle.<br>Il est surtout connu pour avoir d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 la th\u00e9orie de la relativit\u00e9 restreinte (1905) et la relativit\u00e9 g\u00e9n\u00e9rale (1915).<br>Il introduit l\u2019\u00e9quation c\u00e9l\u00e8bre E = mc\u00b2, reliant masse et \u00e9nergie.<br>Ses travaux ont profond\u00e9ment transform\u00e9 la physique moderne et la compr\u00e9hension de l\u2019espace-temps.<br>En 1905, son \u201cannus mirabilis\u201d, il publie plusieurs articles fondamentaux en physique.<br>Il contribue aussi \u00e0 l\u2019explication de l\u2019effet photo\u00e9lectrique, base de la m\u00e9canique quantique.<br>Il re\u00e7oit le prix Nobel de physique en 1921 pour ce travail, et non pour la relativit\u00e9.<br>Ses id\u00e9es ont eu des applications majeures, notamment en cosmologie et en technologies nucl\u00e9aires.<br>Pacifiste et humaniste, il prend position sur des questions politiques et \u00e9thiques du XX\u1d49 si\u00e8cle.<br>Il quitte l\u2019Allemagne nazie en 1933 pour s\u2019installer aux \u00c9tats-Unis.<br>Il termine sa carri\u00e8re \u00e0 l\u2019Institute for Advanced Study de Princeton.<br>Son
